We’re halfway through the men’s college basketball season, and while it has produced some surprising and disappointing teams, there are some teams that are doing just as expected. One of those teams is the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Yellow Jackets sit at 8-9, middle of the pack of the ACC, which is exactly how the team that they were seen as before the season started.

The Yellow Jackets didn’t enter the season with much expectations, and it has been an up and down season so far, with the team experiencing both highs, like back-to-back wins against ACC foes Notre Dame and Boston College, and the lows showing up every time the Yellow Jackets have played a ranked team, which there have been five games this season where a team currently ranked in the AP poll top 25 or were ranked in the top 25 when they took the court against the Yellow Jackets. In those five games, the Yellow Jackets have been outscored by an average of 15 points and are 0-5.

The Yellow Jackets will head into the second half of the season with little momentum, as they come into it on a two-game losing streak to the Syracuse Orange and the SMU Mustangs, losing by and average 14.5 points per game in those two games, with the Yellow Jackets coming off of what could be seen as their worst performance of the season against the Mustangs, a game in which they trailed 50-19 at halftime.

The Yellow Jackets tip off the second half of their season against the Clemson Tigers tomorrow at 9pm Eastern time.
