The Reeses Senior Bowl is right around the corner and set to take place on Feb. 1, with some of the biggest names in college football set to take center stage, such as Tate Ratledge, Xavier Restrepo, Dillon Gabriel, and former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets defensive lineman Kyle Kennard, but there is one player from the current Yellow Jacket roster that was invited, and that was tight end Jackson Hawes.
Hawes transferred to the Yellow Jackets in 2024 after spending his first three seasons with the Yale Bulldogs, where he assumably drew in interest from the Yellow Jackets due to his frame, which has him at 6’5” and 260 pounds. In his lone season with the Yellow Jackets, Hawes caught 16 passes for 195 yards, including a huge 16-yard reception in the Yellow Jackets 44-42 8OT classic against in-state rival Georgia last season. Hawes would finish the game with four catches for 46 yards, both a season high.
While the Yellow Jackets used him in some moments throughout the season, Hawes has the blocking and receiving ability to be a difference maker on whatever NFL team picks him in the NFL draft in April, or signs him as an undated free agent.
Joining Hawes at the right end spot at the Senior Bowl will be Harold Fannin Jr., Bowling Green, Jake Birningstool, Clemson, Mason Taylor, LSU, Elijah Arroyo, Miami, Terrance Ferguson, Oregon, Gunnar Helm, Texas, and Moliki Matavao, UCLA.
The game is set to start at 1:30pm Eastern time on Feb. 1.
