The 2025 women's basketball season may be months away, but teams are starting to find out what their schedule will hold, and another wave of games has been announced for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women's basketball team, as they received an invitation to compete in the Cayman Islands Classic.

It will be the seventh annual classic for the event, as it started in 2017, and has hosted a tournament every year other than in 2020 and 2021.

The Cayman Islands Classic will feature a total of eight women's teams, adding three teams to the five from last season's tournament. In addition to the Yellow Jackets, the other seven teams that were chosen were the Florida Gators, Memphis Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Charlotte 49ers, St. John's Red Storm, and George Washington Revolutionaries.

This is just the second opponent that the Yellow Jackets have found out on their schedule for the 2025 season, as the only other opponent that is known is the Mississippi State Bulldogs, who the Yellow Jackets will play in the SEC-ACC Challenge this season.

The Yellow Jackets join the Miami Hurricanes as the only conference to have two teams that are playing in the tournament.

The tournament will provide the Yellow Jackets with an early season test, as it is set to be played on Nov. 28 and 29, with teams being eliminated after they reach two losses, so it is a double elimination round robin. The Yellow Jackets do not know yet which team they will start the tournament against.
