The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women’s basketball season is still far way, but the team has now found out who one of their first opponents on their schedule will be for the 2025 season: the Texas A&M Aggies.

The announcement came as a part of the matchup releases for the ACC-SEC Challenge that will be played for the third consecutive season for both the men’s and women’s teams.

Last season, the Yellow Jackets competed against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, where they hosted them at McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta. The Yellow Jackets won the contest in a close game, 78-75, and the win was part of the 16-game winning streak that the Yellow Jackets started last season with.

This year, the Yellow Jackets will go on the road to compete against the Aggies, in what could be one of the lowest rated games of the entire tournament. Both teams have a lot of fresh faces coming in, and when it comes down to the bottom line, the Yellow Jackets needed to be paired with a better opponent than the Aggies in the ACC-SEC Challenge.

The Yellow Jackets are 1-1 in the ACC-SEC Challenge since its inaugural year in 2023, losing to the Florida Gators in their first game, 68-58, and picking up the win against the Bulldogs last season.

The dates for the ACC-SEC Challenge are set for Dec. 3 and 4, with the Yellow Jackets and Aggies set to take the court against each other on Dec. 3.

The game time has not been set yet.
