Last night, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women's basketball team hosted the Mississippi State Bulldogs in a showdown that should be notable come time for the NCAA Tournament, as both teams entered the game undefeated this season, the Bulldogs holding an 8-0 record, and the Yellow Jackets hoisting a 7-0 record.

The Bulldogs would get off to a fast start, as they scored the first seven points of the game, but that was the largest lead that either team would hold the entire game, as the Yellow Jackets battled back throughout the game to chop away at the lead with little spurts at a time. The biggest one of the night may have been when the Yellow Jackets went on a 12-4 run to start the second half, coming into the second half down by five. The run would give the Yellow Jackets their first lead of the game.

From there, the Yellow Jackets would trade the lead with the Bulldogs the rest of the game, until a layup by forward Kayla Blackshear with 1:04 left in the game gave the Yellow Jackets a 76-75 lead. After that, neither team would make a field goal for the rest of the game, as the only points scored would come from two made free throws by Georgia Tech guard Dani Carnegie. The Yellow Jackets would go on to win the game 78-75.

Forward Kara Dunn led the way for the Yellow Jacket victory, as she dropped 23 points, including four made threes. Tonie Morgan and Carnegie were the only other Yellow Jackets to score in double digits, as Morgan added 15 and Carnegie contributed 14. Morgan also finished the game with eight assists.

Up next for the Yellow Jackets will be a game against Mercer on Sunday at 2pm Eastern.
