The Yellow Jackets offense would get off to a surprisingly quick start, something the team has not been accustomed to this semester, as they made seven of their first ten shots of the game, including two from three-point range to take a 14-12 lead early in the first half. However, the Cardinals would make six of their first eight shot attempts as well to stay in the game, making the score 16-15 in favor of the Yellow Jackets with 15 minutes left in the first half.
Louisville guard Terrance Edwards would put up 13 of the Cardinals first 21 points, making five of his first six shots of the contest.
A 9-0 run by the Cardinals would put them up 24-16 just over halfway through the first half. From there, the Cardinals would go on another run, this time to the tune of 7-2, to take a 31-18 lead for the Cardinals
The Yellow Jackets would go a full six minutes before Lance Terry would hit a mid-range turnaround jumper to make the score 31-20. The two teams would trade blows for the rest of the quarter, with the Cardinals taking a 38-28 lead heading into halftime.
Terry leads the Yellow Jackets in points with ten points, while Baye Ndongo is on pace for a double double, sitting at 6 points and five rebounds.
