The transfer portal is alive and well in the college basketball landscape, and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and newly named head coach Karen Blair have been making moves throughout the weekend, as the Yellow Jackets have signed a total of four players, but now there will be a fifth member of the incoming transfer class, as now former Penn State Nittany Lions guard Talayah Walkers will be joining Blair and the Yellow Jackets next season.
Walker only played one season for the Nittany Lions after committing to the team in the recruiting cycle last season, but in that one year, Walker showed enough promise that she was able to field other offers and get on a team that could use her effectively.
Walker seen limited action as a freshman, but when she was on the court, she lit it up for the Nittany Lions, as she played just 15.5 minutes per game last season, but put up an average of 5.6 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game. On the defensive side, Walker averaged .9 steals per game. Walker did start just two games for the Nittany Lions, but appeared in all 29 games for the team last season.
Walker can be a great prospect that the Yellow Jackets can look at as a game one contributor with both her experience and her ability to make the most of the opportunities given to her. Walker will have three years of eligibility left for her time with the Yellow Jackets.
