King’s 304 passing yards, three touchdown passes, and 395 total yards were all season highs. His ability to hurt defenses with both his arm and his legs continues to fuel the Yellow Jackets’ offense. King has now recorded at least one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown in 15 of his 31 career games. That dual-threat production makes him one of the most dangerous players in the conference.
This is not the first time King has earned this recognition this season. After the week one win over Colorado, he earned Maxwell honors for his leadership and playmaking. He has only improved each week since then. King he was named one of the Davey O’Brien Award Great 8 and Manning Award Stars of the Week on Monday. Both honors recognize college football’s top quarterbacks of the week.
Georgia Tech now has four games left on the schedule. Their path to the ACC Championship Game is wide open, and the College Football Playoff remains in reach. With King leading the way and the defense playing strong football, the Yellow Jackets believe this special season can go even further. The team and its fans are dreaming big, and every win brings those goals closer.
The No. 8 8-0 Yellow Jackets are back on the road this week. When they face 4-4 ACC opponent NC State.
