The 2025 NFL Draft is over, and after all the smoke is cleared, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets had two players selected in this years draft, their most in a single draft since the 2021 draft when Pressley Harvin and Jalen Camp were both taken in later rounds.
Tight end Jackson Hawes was the first former Yellow Jackets player taken, as he went to the Buffalo Bills in the fifth round of the NFL Draft as the No.173 pick. Hawes could see some action next season, as the Bills like to use two tight end sets and he would presumably be third in the depth chart behind Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid. Hawes is the highest picked Yellow Jackets player since wide receiver DeAndre Smelter in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Defensive tackle Zeek Biggers was a fringe draft pick that could have leaned towards an UDFA contract and a late round pick, and turns out the latter was true, as Biggers was selected to the Miami Dolphins as the No. 253 overall pick in the draft. Biggers comes into a situation where he could find himself in the rotation of defensive tackles for the Dolphins in training camp, and I think even compete for a No.2 spot for the position on the depth chart behind Benito Jones.
Both players I think have been put in favorable positions to start their NFL careers, and I think both could wind up being decent contributors for their teams as early as next season.
