Every year, there are players that fly under the radar in draft boards, and some undrafted free agents from the players that did not get picked wind up being great contributors to teams once they give them a chance, and I think that in this draft class, one of those guys could very well be LaMiles Brooks, a safety from the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Brooks has been one of the only consistent starters for the Yellow Jackets over the past four seasons, as he has played in 49 games for the Yellow Jackets over the pas four seasons, and has started the past three seasons for the team.
Brooks, despite battling through injuries for the past two season, has come into his own and contributed in very game the past three seasons, including his 2022-23 season, where he was named the third best safety in the ACC.
In his time with the Yellow Jackets, Brooks would total 171 total tackles, with his most coming in the 2022-23 season, where he contributed 67 total tackles. Last season, Brooks would have perhaps his best game in his last as a Yellow Jackets, against the Vanderbilt Commodores, where he would rack up seven total tackles.
Brooks is way more of a box safety than a coverage safety, but make no mistake, he is good in both areas, but he gets his main production from playing close to the line of scrimmage and stopping underneath routes, keeping the play in front of him at all times.
