In a weekend series against the then-No.20 ranked Louisville Cardinals, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets lineup tried to find their footing, but never quite did, as the team would score just ten runs over the course of the weekend.

However, the lineup and a few players in it did step up for the Yellow Jackets in big ways, and one of those players that did was junior Kyle Lodise.

Lodise’s weekend got off to a good start in his first at-bat, as he was walked, but in his next at bat, he would ground into a double play. He would then get walked again in his third at bat of the day, but then he would get a triple in his last at bat in the seventh inning. However, the Yellow Jackets lineup could not capitalize on the opportunity. In a game in which the Yellow Jackets only scored two runs, Lodise would reach base three times.

In game two, Lodise would move away from his traditional leadoff spot to move to third in the batting order, and made an immediate impact when he hit a single to bring home Drew Burress for his first RBI of the weekend. Lodise would groundout in the second inning and be walked in the fifth inning before the game was called in the seventh inning.

However, his best game of the weekend came in the last game of the series, when he was responsible for both runs in a 2-1 victory for the Yellow Jackets, which seen him drive in Kent Schmidt on a foul ball catch, and a single that brought home Connor Shouse. Lodise would also get another single in the game in the sixth inning.

Overall, Lodise would go 4-8 in the series with three walks and three RBI.
