Georgia Tech is playing in front of a sparse crowd today in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, against the 1–9 Boston College Eagles—and the Yellow Jackets offense opened the afternoon looking sluggish. Punting on ther first drive, but got going on their 2nd drive. With a 27 yard touchdown run by Malachi Hosley.
In just his second season at the helm, Bill O’Brien’s program has lost much of the buzz generated a year ago, when BC finished the regular season 7–5 before falling to Nebraska in the Pinstripe Bowl.
After the offense punted on their first drive. Boston College was backed up deep in their territory near the goal line. BC completed a long pass on third down into Georgia Tech territory. The Yellow Jackets defense held strong and forced the Eagles to punt.

Early on, there was little atmosphere inside Alumni Stadium. In fact, the Yellow Jackets may have felt a bigger spark during their own practices in Atlanta. Even Heisman hopeful Haynes King couldn’t jump-start things immediately, as Georgia Tech punted on its opening possession.
Still, the Jackets enter this matchup as heavy favorites, and with an 8–1 record and full control of their postseason destiny, they simply cannot afford a flat performance. Against an overmatched Eagles team, Georgia Tech needs to assert itself on both sides of the ball, get back to the dominant form that carried them through the first two months, and show the playoff committee they belong firmly in the national conversation.
A strong response today would set the tone for the final stretch—two conference games that will ultimately decide whether the Yellow Jackets play for an ACC championship. This is a business trip for the Brent Key led Yellow Jackets.
