Coming off their first loss of the season, No. 16 Georgia Tech enters today’s matchup against 1–9 Boston College with a clear mission: reset, refocus, and reestablish dominance. The Yellow Jackets stumbled two weeks ago against NC State, giving up uncharacteristic chunk plays and struggling to create defensive stops in what had been a strength all season. The bye week couldn’t have come at a better time, offering a chance to regroup and correct the defensive lapses that surfaced in Raleigh.
Despite the setback, Georgia Tech remains firmly in control of its destiny. With three games left — including two pivotal ACC matchups — the Jackets have a direct path to the conference championship. Win the next two, and they punch their ticket to Charlotte.

Today’s game provides an ideal opportunity to regain momentum. Boston College enters at 1–9, coming off a 45–13 loss to SMU and searching for answers on both sides of the ball. Georgia Tech’s offense, led by its efficient ground attack and Heisman quality quarterback play, should be able to dictate tempo early. More importantly, the defense has a chance to set the tone and remind the conference why this team climbed into the top 15.
Even with a potential ACC title game ahead, the Jackets’ playoff hopes aren’t unrealistic. If they run the table in the regular season and close with a statement win over No. 5 Georgia, they would present one of the more compelling résumés in the country — even if they were to stumble in Charlotte.
For Georgia Tech, it all starts with taking care of business today.
