With Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fans not feeling too optimistic heading into the 2025 NFL Draft that took place over the last three days, they can now be pleasantly surprised by the fact that the Yellow Jackets had a player drafted in tight end Jackson Hawes, but with the end of the draft approaching, the Miami Dolphins made a selection in the seventh round that would bring the optimism back for the Yellow Jackets: defensive lineman Zeek Biggers.
Biggers and Yellow Jackets fans alike were wondering if his name would be called for the draft at all, and both him and Yellow Jackets fans can now exhale and enjoy the fact that Biggers got selected, even if it was pick No. 253.
Biggers can for sure be a guy with the Miami Dolphins that makes a splash, as they were in need of a defensive tackle heading into the draft, and wound up with an under-the-radar guy like Biggers.
Biggers can use his size to disrupt a lot of plays up the middle of the offensive line, and while his speed can be a concern, Biggers proved that he can bypass those doubts with his production with the Yellow Jackets, where he finished last season with 23 tackles and was an Honorable Mention All-ACC player.
The Miami Dolphins were looking for a guy that they could give a chance to to do well in the NFL and prove himself, and I think that they got just that with the Biggers pick.
