After months of speculation about where he would go for his college career, center Mouhamed Sylla has made that decision, choosing the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets as the team that he will take his talents to next season.

Sylla remained to be one of the most highly sought after players in the recruiting class, and a top-five player that had not committed to a team yet until he signed with the Yellow Jackets. Sylla chose Georgia Tech over teams such as the Kansas Jayhawks, Arkansas Razorbacks, Oregon Ducks, and Washington Huskies.

Sylla played his senior season at Bella Vista Prep in Scottsdale, Arizona. At 6'10" 240 pounds, Sylla is a player that could dominate inside the paint for the Yellow Jackets.

Sylla joins four other recruits that will be playing for the Yellow Jackets next season: guard Akai Fleming, forward Brandon Stores, guard Eric Chatfield, and center Cole Kerouac.

Without a dominant big man this season, it's safe to say that it was definitely a focus for the recruiting cycle for Yellow Jackets head coach Damon Stoudemire, who is currently in his second season with the team and looking for production on the court that will help him get more wins, as he has a record of 22-28 as of right now with the team. Sylla is the biggest recruit that Stoudemire has signed in his first two recruiting cycles.

Sylla should be a key contributor right away for the Yellow Jackets next season, as he could be paired with sophomore forward Baye Ndongo to create a frontcourt tandem that could be lethal for the team.
