The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets baseball team is in the middle of a historic season, and that season will continue this weekend as they host the California Golden Bears in a matchup of teams that are heading in two opposite directions, as the Yellow Jackets sit at 26-7 and in the middle of one of the best seasons in school history, while the Golden Bears are struggling to stay above .500, sitting at 15-17 this season.

The Yellow Jackets lost their midweek matchup to the No.11 ranked Auburn Tigers 9-8 in heartbreaking fashion, allowing three runs in the top of the eighth inning after leading 7-6.

The Golden Bears won their midweek matchup, as they hosted the Pacific Tigers, winning the game 14-8.

The Yellow Jackets come into the game 11-4 in the ACC, winning seven of their last nine ACC games, including sweeps against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Stanford Cardinal. The only team that has had a series win over the Yellow Jackets this season has been the Clemson Tigers.

On the other side of the diamond, the Golden Bears have only won one of their ACC series this season, against the Cardinal. They have series losses to Clemson, Louisville, Duke, and Virginia. They currently sit at 6-9 this season in ACC play.

The three game series this weekend will consist of a game today at 6pm, Saturday's game will be at 4pm, and Sunday's game will be at 2 pm. All game times are in Eastern time.
