In what could have been the biggest match up of the season of the season thus far for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, they hosted the Duke Blue Devils in what was just the team's fourth match up of the season where both team's were ranked entering the contest. The Yellow Jackets were 2-1in such games heading into the contest, but the Blue Devils defense gave the Yellow Jackets all they asked for and more, as the Blue Devils would win the contest 55-50.

The game set a new season-low in points for the Yellow Jackets, as they scored less than 60 points for the first time this season. The contest was expected to be a low-scoring affair, as both teams ranked in the top five in the ACC in points allowed per game.

The Yellow Jackets seemed to come out firing on all cylinders, as they quickly built a 16-10 lead, and even ended the first quarter up 18-17. However, the Blue Devils would rally back to be up 31-27 at halftime. The two teams would go back and forth in the second half, with the Yellow Jackets even entering the fourth quarter tied with the Blue Devils.

The Blue Devils would build a 55-49 lead with 4:02 left in the game, and while the defense for the Yellow Jackets would hold up their end by not allowing another point to the Blue Devils, the offense couldn't get momentum going, with neither team making a field goal in the final 4:02 of the game.

The Yellow Jackets couldn't get anything going from beyond the arc, as they shot 1-20 from three-point range, with the lone three being made by Chazadi Wright.

Zoesha Smith would lead the Yellow Jackets with 16 points and finished the game with a double double, as she also hauled in 13 rebounds. The only other Yellow Jacket to finish the game in double digit points was Kara Dunn, who finished with ten. As a team, the Yellow Jackets outrebounded the Blue Devils 45-34.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Sunday in a road contest against the Miami Hurricanes.
