The Virginia Cavaliers started the season as the No.2 ranked team in the country on D1Baseball.com, but the season has not gone as planned for the Cavaliers, as they currently sit at 22-15 this season and unranked. They have won their last two games, but they travel to Atlanta, GA this weekend to take on the No.24 ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

The Yellow Jackets reached as high as 13 in the D1Baseball.com Top 25 earlier this season, but the lineup for the team has gone cold in the past week. The Yellow Jackets have only scored eight runs in their last five games, including not scoring more than two runs in any game.

If there was a time for the Yellow Jackets to turn the season around, it would be this weekend, as they do have a favorable matchup against the Cavaliers, with an opportunity to get their season back on track. That starts with the offense getting back in a rhythm and scoring some runs, something that the Virginia pitching staff has allowed a lot of this season.

Over the last five games, the Yellow Jackets have been outscored 22-10, and while the pitching did have two bad outings against the Miami Hurricanes in their weekend series last weekend, they held their end of the deal in three of the five games that the Yellow Jackets have lost over the past ten days.

Game one of the series is set to start today with the first pitch being at 6pm Eastern time.
