Penn State Transfer Talayah Walker Leads Yellow Jackets To Blowout Win

Georgia Tech women’s basketball ushered in a bright new era on Thursday, as first-year head coach Karen Blair guided the Yellow Jackets to a dominant 82–36 win over Radford at McCamish Pavilion. The Yellow Jackets look to improve upon last season. Where they lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Penn State transfer Talayah Walker led both teams in scoring with 16 points.

Blair is the seventh head coach in program history, taking over after seven seasons on staff at Maryland. She is one of two new ACC head coaches this fall and inherits a program coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance last season.

Georgia Tech shot an impressive 50% from the field while holding Radford to just 22.2%. The Jackets also controlled the boards, out-rebounding the Highlanders 47–21.

Last season, Georgia Tech finished 22–11 overall, including a 9–9 mark in ACC play and a strong 14–4 record at home. The Yellow Jackets earned a No. 9 seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament but fell to No. 8 seed Richmond in the first round, 74–49, on March 21.

The Lady Yellow Jackets return to action Sunday at 2 p.m. at home against Princeton.
