So the time has come where the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets baseball team knows who is within their region in the NCAA Tournament, but who will be on the mound for the team? I predict the rotation that fans could see from the Yellow Jackets for the next week.
In their first matchup of the tournament, I have Tate McKee taking the mound against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. McKee has been the almost permanent Friday starter for the team all season, and picking up a win here should not be that difficult, so I give McKee the nod.
In game two, the Yellow Jackets will face the Ole Miss Rebels after a win against the Hilltoppers, and I have the Yellow Jackets putting Brady Jones on the mound. He has been the best pitcher for the Yellow Jackets all season in my opinion, and I would trust him to get a win more than anyone else in the rotation.
Game three will be a wild card, because if the Yellow Jackets beat the Rebels, then they face the winner of the Hilltoppers and Murray State Racers matchup. If they face either of them, then I would put Jaylen Paden on the mound to try and secure a win. If they face the Rebels again here, then I throw all my chips in on Mason Patel making his first start of the season, as he has played hero ball for the Yellow Jackets before, and it worked out.
If the Yellow Jackets play games four and five, they will both be against the Ole Miss Rebels, and they will need two guys that they can somewhat trust with the season on the line, so I would put Jaylen Paden (if he did not start in the above scenario), and game five would belong to McKee, as he would be the most confident that I would feel having take the mound with our backs against the wall.
