With preseason rankings and teams coming about, fans are getting their first dose of what the 2025 college football season will look like, we can look at projected All-Conference teams and see exactly how the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets stack up against the rest of the ACC, and one of those players that could have a case is Yellow Jackets quarterback Haynes King.

King is coming into his final year of college football, and his third leading the Yellow Jackets. His first season with the team was not all that great, with accuracy and turnover issues, but last season, King took a huge step forward by throwing just two interceptions to 14 touchdowns, but dealt with injuries that caused him to miss roughly a game and three quarters last season.

King's name started to gain traction after a heroic performance against their in-state rival Georgia Bulldogs, and now I make the case for why King should be among the three best ACC quarterbacks entering the season.

Cade Klubnik, I think, has pretty assuredly got the First Team selection, while Miami quarterback Carson Beck could get the Second team, which leaves one spot open for King to claim: the Third Team. Perhaps his biggest threat to that Third team spot is SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings.

I would argue that King presents himself as the bigger threat to a defense than Kevin Jennings, simply because his ability to run the football himself. Jennings threw for 3,245 yards last season and 23 touchdowns, but he was also a turnover machine, throwing 11 interceptions and only completed 65% of his passes, which tied him at fourth in the conference among quarterbacks with at least 200 pass attempts with Kyle McCord, but King on the other hand was the most accurate passer of the bunch, completing 72.9% of his passes. King also finished second in the conference in rushing yards by a quarterback, with 587 yards and finished with 11 rushing touchdowns, putting him at fifth overall in the conference.

I think that King more than proved that he was a dangerous threat last season, and he should be selected over Kevin Jennings as the Third Team quarterback in the preseason.
