The 2025 NFL Draft is now over, and teams are now looking for players that did not get drafted to fill out spots on the roster, or go after a guy that they may have been high on but wanted to wait until after the draft to get him. One of those players on the Carolina Panthers' board was former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets defensive lineman Sylvian Yondjouen.
Yondjouen would appear in 51 games for the Yellow Jackets since arriving on campus in 2019. Yondjouen is coming off of what is his best season in his collegeiate career, where he tataled a career high in tackles with 24. As primarily an interior lineman, Yondjeoun is someone that can create havoc in the other team's rushing attack, especially in the backfield, as he finished with a career high six tackles for loss last season.
With Yondjouen going to the Panthers, he will join a defensive line that features both Derrick Brown and Bobby Brown II, so the starting spots are solidified, but Youndjeoun could potentially make some noise and vie for a second string spot, or a depth piece spot, as he has shown sporadic bursts of athleticism for someone with his frame, 6'4" and 260 pounds.
Yondjouen was a critical piece to the recent success that the Yellow Jackets have had, as he provided a consistent spot on the roster when he was not injured, which happened when he missed the entire 2023 season after an injury in the season-opener against Louisville.
