The selection committee is set to reveal the first College Football Playoff rankings of 2025 tonight, airing from 8:00–8:45 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

The College Football Playoff, in partnership with ESPN and TNT Sports, has released the broadcast schedule and kickoff times for the 2025 CFP First Round. Marking year two of the expanded 12-team postseason format.

This year’s playoff action will open on Friday, Dec. 19, with the first matchup scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on both ABC and ESPN. The remaining first-round games will take place the following day, Saturday, Dec. 20. ABC and ESPN will carry the noon kickoff to start Saturday’s tripleheader, while TNT takes over for the 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. ET contests.

Fans will have multiple streaming options as well. All ESPN-televised games are accessible through the ESPN App, while the games shown on TNT and truTV will be available on HBO Max. The four first-round matchups will be hosted on the home fields of the higher-seeded teams, with those sites being officially announced on Selection Day, December 7.

Playoff Timeframe

The playoff will span from Dec. 19–20 for the opening round and run through Jan. 19, when the national championship will be played at Hard Rock Stadium just outside Miami.

As always, social media is expected to erupt with reactions to the initial rankings — especially if fans feel the committee gives preferential treatment to the SEC.

For Georgia Tech supporters, tonight’s rankings hold little weight. The Yellow Jackets’ only realistic path into the playoff is simple: win the ACC.
