In what will go down as one of the best regular season endings to an ACC history, it would be the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets that would get the claim of being the ACC regular season champions, but more importantly, it means that the Yellow Jackets will be the top seed in the ACC Tournament that will start this morning. But what is next for the Yellow Jackets?
The Yellow Jackets will have a double bye, as well as the Florida State Seminoles, North Carolina Tar Heels, and NC State Wolfpack, as they are the top four teams in the tournament.
The games to watch for the Yellow Jackets will be the California Golden Bears and Miami Hurricanes first round matchup, as the winner will face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, and the winner of that game will be the Yellow Jackets opponent in the quarterfinals. The trio is tricky to guess who could come out of it, but if you ask me, the Demon Deacons are the most likely of the trio.
Yellow Jackets fans would have plenty to cheer for if either the Hurricanes or Golden Bears face off with them again, as the Yellow Jackets would be looking for a four-game season sweep against the Golden Bears, or avenging a three-game series sweep earlier this season to the Hurricanes. The Yellow Jackets have not played the Demon Deacons this season.
The Yellow Jackets will be set for their quarterfinal game against one of those trio of teams on Thursday, as they will have a set first pitch time of 3pm Eastern time.
