In what will be a matchup of teams that are trending in opposite directions, the No.19 ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will travel to take on the Clemson Tigers tonight. The Yellow Jackets come into the game riding a three-game winning streak, while the Tigers have lost their last four games by an average of 15.5 points per game.
The two teams have already met earlier this season, with the Yellow Jackets coming out with a 24-point victory over the Tigers. In that contest, the Yellow Jackets were without star freshman guard Dani Carnegie, who has since returned from injury.
The Yellow Jackets put together perhaps their best team performance of the season in that contest, having six players score in double digit points for the team. However, an individual performance by Yellow Jackets junior guard Tonie Morgan stole the show, as she put up the first triple double in the program since 2002.
The Yellow Jackets are looking to cling on to a top five seed in the ACC tournament, so the game could have major implications if the Yellow Jackets lose this one.
In their previous meeting this season, Tigers senior guard Loyal McQueen lead the team in scoring with 18 points, while also dishing out six assists in the contest.
The contest tonight could be used as a good opportunity for Carnegie to get her season back on track, as she has put up a combined 20 points in the last four games for the team.
The game is set to tip off at 7:00pm Eastern time tonight.
