Why I would start Tate McKee in game one of the Oxford regional if I am Georgia Tech

It is now do or die season for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, as if they lose two games in the Oxford regional, the team will be sent home with an empty feeling of what has been a magical season on the Flats. So how do you make sure you don't lose two games? You use your best players, and that includes pitchers. In game one, the Yellow Jackets will face off against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, and I think that the guy on the mound should be none other than Tate McKee.

McKee has been the routine Friday starter for the team this season, which means the coaching staff has a lot of faith in him, so why would they not put him out on the mound for the first game of the most important series of games in the entire season?

McKee has started 15 games this season, tying freshman Brady Jacobs for the most on the team, so has had pressure on him a lot this season, and he has gotten quite use to it.

The biggest reason that I like starting Tate McKee here is that he can be available for a game five scenario if the Yellow Jackets face a win or go home situation, it frees up McKee to take that start and roll with it.

I get some Yellow Jackets fans might want a bullpen game in game one, but being able to get possibly two starts from McKee makes me feel more comfortable about our chances of winning the Oxford region.
