The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team is poised for a huge 2025 season, with many people having the team as a potential dark horse to win the ACC, and that becomes even more evident with the announcement that the team will open up on a Friday primetime game slot against the Colorado Buffaloes.

It was already a huge deal that the Yellow Jackets would be opening up against a team that has one of the biggest spotlights on them heading into the season, but to put the team in the 8pm Eastern window means that the Yellow Jackets have a primetime game slot to show the world what they can do with all of them watching.

The game will undoubtedly be one of the biggest during the opening weekend, but what makes it so special is the fact that the game takes place on Aug. 29, a Friday night. The game will be one of two matchups of the day that feature two Power Four conference opponents, joining the Baylor Bears and Auburn Tigers, however the game time for that game has not been set.

It is also worth noting that the game will be aired on ESPN, as it will be up front and center for the sports world.
Expect the game to be one of two games this season that draw in a huge number of viewers, given the day and time slot, with the other being their annual rivalry game against the Georgia Bulldogs, which will also take place on a Friday on Nov. 28.
