Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets head coach Brent Key hit the recruiting trail hard for the 2025 class, making it one of the most historic in the program’s history. The Yellow Jackets signed just the second five-star recruit in program history when they got a committed from offensive lineman Josh Petty, who is slated to have a prosperous career with the Yellow Jackets.
Petty will without a doubt find a starting spot on the offensive line, as the Yellow Jackets will be looking for replacements for Jordan Williams and Weston Franklin, who started every game for the Yellow Jackets last season in what was one of the best offensive lines in not only the ACC but the entire country.
Last season, the Yellow Jackets offensive line group gave up just nine sacks, the third lowest in the entire country, and led the team to a stellar running attack, averaging 187 yards per game, good for second in the ACC.
Petty will most likely take one of the starting tackle spots, while Jordan Floyd will most likely hold down the opposite end of the offensive line, especially after the departure of Corey Robinson II to the Arkansas Razorbacks in the offseason.
With Petty joining the offensive line unit, it could put the group in a position where they do not take a big step back despite losing major contributors in the offseason. The Yellow Jackets are slated for a huge 2026 season, and could be a potential dark horse in the ACC, and the offensive line will play a huge factor in it.
