Yellow Jackets in the league: Jose Alvarado could get traded

With the NBA trade deadline quickly approaching, the New Orleans Pelicans could look to shop former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets guard Jose Alvarado, and they could have plenty of suitors.

The three-year NBA veteran has been wildly inconsistent in both playing time, which has seen him play anywhere between 12 and 32 minutes over the course of the last ten games, and game production, where he has been even more inconsistent. In the one start that Alvarado has had since returning from his injury, he put up just six points in 32 minutes of playing time, making two of his six shots in the contest.

Perhaps Alvarado's biggest sell is his work ethic, something that Yellow Jackets fans know all too well about him. Look for teams that are looking for a bench player that can fire up the team to be contenders for Alvarado on the trade market. Maybe a playoff contender like the Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, or Phoenix Suns, who are all in need of depth on the bench.

It's glaringly obvious that whatever is going on in New Orleans for Alvarado and head coach Willie Green is not what is best for either side, as it would seem that neither side is satisfied with their current situations.

While Alvarado probably will not be a part of some huge blockbuster trade at the deadline, that still does not mean that he can not help a team get to the playoffs, and perhaps even win a first round series.
