The NBA Playoffs are just now starting to heat up, but for some teams that did no make the playoffs, the offseason has already begun, and that means making hard decisions for the benefit of the team, which can mean maybe a team signs a player in free agency or lets a star player walk, but other times, it could mean that a player could be packaged for a trade. One of those players could be former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets guard and current New Orleans Pelicans player Jose Alvarado.

Alvarado is currently due to make 4.5 million dollars next season, which to me, is an absolute steal when you see the production that they are getting from him. Alvarado scored at least ten points in eight of the Pelicans nine games, including tying his season-high for points in a game, with 27 against the Los Angeles Lakers on April 4.

Yes, Alvarado did have an injury that sidelined him a few games towards the beginning of the series, but the upside of when he is on the court far outweighs what was diminished by his injuries. The Pelicans may be shopping around for a player this offseason, and Alvarado could be a great trade target for any team, as he is an unselfish player that has shown that he has a lot of hustle to make plays, especially on the defensive side of the ball, where he led the Pelicans in steals this season, and was able to average 4.6 assists per game.
