One of Georgia Tech football’s top recruiting targets has set a decision deadline.

One of Georgia Tech football‘s top recruiting targets is ready to make a decision. Niceville, Florida native Juanyeh Thomas announced on Wednesday that he will be making his college decision before August 18th.

Thomas’s name is no secret to YellowJackedUp as we’ve followed his recruitment closely here over the last month. Despite not being a highly rated recruit, Thomas has earned offers from notable programs including two of his three finalists in Auburn and Florida. His final three of Auburn, Florida, and Georgia Tech is no surprise as they have been the three key schools throughout the last few months.

At this time, it’s hard to see Thomas ending up anywhere besides The Flats. It’s easy to see that the Jackets coaching staff has made the Flordia corner a priority and have gotten him on campus several times. His most recent visit was last weekend, which will be his final college visit before making his commitment to August being a recruiting dead period. His only recent college visit according to 247Sports has been to Auburn on June 3rd. Which, if accurate, is great news for the Jackets.

2018 Class so far:

The Jackets 2018 recruiting class has already gotten off to a great start and could end up being the best in Paul Johnson’s tenure at Tech. Currently, the class is headlined by defensive tackle T.K Chimedza, who lost his fourth-star but could earn it back this fall. The class also features two other top-500 players in 247Sports composite rankings, those players are LB Justin Dingle and cornerback Jaylon King.

A defensive heavy class with their top four recruits all defensive players, the Jackets defense could be getting even better in the future with the potential addition of Thomas in the near future. Currently, the Jackets 2018 recruiting class is ranked 50th in the country and 11th in the ACC.
