With spring training approaching fast, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets head coach Brent Key has brought in three new member of the coaching staff for next season.
The first acquisition was Darius Eubanks, who stays in his home state for the Yellow Jackets. Eubanks has been at Georgia Southern the past two seasons, holding the title of both secondary coach and this past season, the defensive run game coordinator. Eubanks was a linebacker for Georgia Southern from 2009-2012, where he stated 50 of 52 games. Eubanks has also made stops at Liberty, Georgia State, Samford, and Arkansas. In 2021, his Georgia State defense ranked No. 15 in the nation in tackles for loss and No. 23 in sacks.
Another name added was Brendan Farrell, who will serve as the Senior Strategist For Special Teams and Game Management. Farrell has more than 20 years of coaching experience, but has spent the last five seasons with the Miami Dolphins as an assistant special teams coach. Before that, Farrell was a special teams analyst at Alabama at the same time Key was the offensive line coach for the team.
The last name on the list is Alex Mathis, who will be the Executive Director of Recruiting. Mathis comes to the Yellow Jackets after spending eight years at the high school level before landing at UCF in 2022, where he started to raise eyebrows when he signed the top-40 recruiting classes for the Golden Knights, with his highest rated being the 2023 class, where he was ranked No. 34 nationally.
