Coming into game two of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Notre Dame Fighting Irish series, the Yellow Jackets bats were red hot after an 18-7 win in game one. Could that trend continue over into game two? For at least one Yellow Jackets player, third baseman Carson Kerce, that was a resounding yes.

Kerce would make an impact right away for the Yellow Jackets, as he would get the second inning started with a double, his tenth of the season. He would be brought home after a Will Baker home run in the next at-bat.

Kerce would get another hit in a big fifth inning for the Yellow Jackets, this time a single to left field, that would bring home freshman Alex Hernandez, and give the Yellow Jackets a 7-3 lead in the contest.

Kerce would be up yet again in the seventh inning, and he would again get what should have been a huge hit for the Yellow Jackets, but the lineup could not capitalize on the opportunity, as on the next at-bat, Baker would groundout to a double play, ending the inning. Kerce would be the lone baserunner for the Yellow Jackets in the inning.

In total, Kerce would go 3-4 in the game, getting a double and two singles, as his performance would help the Yellow Jackets claim a big victory over the Fighting Irish, and will now look to complete a full weekend sweep, as they will play their final game of the series today.
