Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket fans knew going into Super Bowl LIX yesterday that a player from the Yellow Jackets would be getting a Super Bowl ring, they just did not know whether it would be Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker or Philadelphia Eagles tight end E.J. Jenkins. After the most lopsided victories in the Super Bowl since Super Bowl XLVIII, which seen the Seattle Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos 43-8, the Eagles would come out victorious with a 40-22 defeat.

The Super Bowl win is the first of Jenkins career, who entered the league in the 2023 NFL Draft. Although he did not get selected, Jenkins bounced around a few practice squads for teams such as the New York Jets, and Las Vegas Raiders, and was even cut from the Eagles practice squad in 2023.

He would make his way back to the Eagles in the offseason, and get promoted to the active roster on Dec. 7. Jenkins would make his first NFL catch in the Eagles 20-13 win over the New York Giants, a seven-yard touchdown pass from backup quarterback Tate McKee.

Heading into the NFL playoffs, it was not expected that he would get a lot of snaps in the postseason, and it worked out just like that, with Jenkins not getting a reception in any of the four postseason games that the Eagles played in, including the Super Bowl. However, Jenkins can now say that he has a Super Bowl ring and has been a part of a championship team.
