Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets freshman guard Dani Carnegie had the best game of her collegiate career so far in her first game back from a hamstring injury in the Yellow Jackets 75-62 win over the Virginia Cavaliers, putting up 29 points and nearly getting a double double, as she also hauled in nine rebounds. So all things pointed towards the freshman phenom to have a good game against the No.14 ranked Duke Blue Devils last night. Except the fact that her and the Yellow Jackets were going up against arguably the best defensive team in the ACC this season.

Carnegie made just one of her 13 shot attempts in the contest, a layup towards the end of the third quarter. Carnegie also missed all nine of her shots from beyond the arc, contributing to the Yellow Jackets poor 1-20 shooting night from three-point range. Her two points in the contest are tied for her lowest of the season with the Yellow Jackets 105-95 double overtime loss, in which Carnegie was injured after playing just six minutes.

While it was expected that the team would not have had a great offensive game, many did not expect the Yellow Jackets to look this flat on the offensive end.

Carnegie played a total of 19 minutes and had a team-high four turnovers, but contributed three rebounds and three assists for the team in the 55-50 loss.

Carnegie and the Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Sunday, as they are set to travel to Miami to take on the Hurricanes.
