Heading into the season, I knew that the pitching rotation for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets would be something to watch out for carefully, as the team had some question marks heading into the season.

The biggest question I had was if Tate McKee could make the jump to being a consistent starter for the team after his performance last season. Although he was a freshman, McKee would finish last season with a 7.28 ERA, and I thought that he was not ready for the jumpt to being in the starting rotation consistently. However, I was wrong.

McKee has flourished as not only a part of the pitching rotation, but being the Friday starter for the Yellow Jackets this season. The progress that McKee has made this season is nothing short of amazing, as he has proven himself to me and a lot of other Yellow Jackets fans.

McKee currently has the second lowest ERA on the team of anyone that has started a game for the team this season, sitting at 3.31.

Not only is McKee not allowing runs, but he is during it while pitching a lot of innings. He leads the team in innings pitched this season at 35.1, and leads the team in strikeouts with 45.

Perhaps his best stat, to me at least, is the fact that he has pitched at least 4.1 innings in all seven of his starts this season, meaning that he is god and reliable at the same time.

McKee currently sits at 4-0 this season.
