The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets keep adding talent to the roster, as they have got a commitment from Oregon State Beavers linebacker Melvin Jordan IV.
Jordan was a four-star recruit from the 2022 recruiting class, where he held offers from multiple schools, including South Carolina, Arkansas, Florida State, Florida, Miami, and Oregon State. Teams knew that Jordan could be a game changer, as he received offers going back to his sophomore year, including making an unofficial visit to the Yellow Jackets in the Spring of 2019. In fact, he originally committed to the Seminoles in the Summer of 2019 before decommitting the next year, recommitting to Cincinnati, decommitting there, then finally landing at Oregon State to begin his college career.
Jordan redshirted his first season with the Beavers before making his first appearance for the team in the 2023 season, where he played in all 13 games for the team, totaling 22 tackles and four tackles for loss. This season, Jordan played in ten games, but was much more productive, totaling 45 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. This season, Jordan had five games with at least four tackles, including a career-high nine tackles against the Nevada Wolfpack.
Bringing in Jordan could be a big pick up for the Yellow Jackets, as they are in need of a linebacker to pair with Kyle Efford, as they are losing Trenilyas Tatum, who is the linebacker that that Efford played with the most last season.
Jordan transfers in with two years of eligibility left.
