The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have added another piece to the team in the transfer portal, this time by way of running back Malachi Hosley.

The addition to the backfield is something that the Yellow Jackets have yearned for this season, as the team struggled to find another producer in the running back room to pair alongside junior Jamal Haynes, who led the team with 808 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, but the running back with the second-most yards on the team was sophomore Chad Alexander, who played in nine games this season, never had more than ten carries in a game, and scored his only touchdown of the season in the Yellow Jackets 41-34 victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Hosley was a workhorse for the Penn Quakers, carrying the ball 191 times for the team, more than twice as many rush attempts as the next closest running back on the team. Hosley made the most of his opportunities with the Quakers, totaling 1,192 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, all while averaging 6.2 yards per carry.

According to 24/7 Rivals, Hosley was the No. 11 ranked running back in this transfer cycle, and the highest rated FCS running back in the cycle.

The running back room for next season for the Yellow Jackets could be crowded, but Haynes and Hosley should separate themselves from the others.

Hosley will transfer into the program as a junior, leaving him with two years of eligibility left for Yellow Jackets head coach Brent Key to work with.
