The transfer portal is officially underway, and let the frenzy begin for some of the nation's highest-rated players and prospects looking to move on to bigger and better opportunities. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets running back depth could some bolstering up after this season, so why not look into some of what the transfer portal has to offer? Here are three players the Yellow Jackets and head coach Brent Key should look at for that group next season.
1. Terion Stewart, Running Back, Bowling Green Falcons
Stewart is heading into his final year of college football as a fifth-year senior, spending the last four seasons with the Falcons. In those four seasons, he has combined for 2,359 yards, and if the name sound familiar to Yellow Jacket fans, it’s because Stewart led the way last season to a 38-27 Bowling Green upset over the Yellow Jackets last season, setting his season high in both carries, 26, and yards, 138.
2. TJ Harden, Running Back, UCLA Bruins
It’s no surprise to Yellow Jacket fans that the team doesn’t have a power running back. Insert Harden, who has one year of eligibility left. While Haynes will get most of the workload for the position next season, it is worth noting that while being 6’2” and 220 pounds, Harden was a big factor in the passing game for the Bruins last season as well, hauling in 40 receptions for 368 yards.
3. Malachi Hosley, Running Back, Penn Quakers
Having spent the last two seasons with the Quakers, Hosley has accounted for 1,915 rushing yards over the past two seasons, and added in 246 yards as a dual-threat receiving back last season. The Yellow Jackets will have questions after next season at the position, looking for a feature back after Jamal Haynes graduates, and Hosley has two years of eligibility remaining.
