In what will be the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets biggest non-conference opponent left on their schedule, the Yellow Jackets will travel to Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to take on the Northwestern Wildcats in the MKE Tip-Off tomorrow.
The Wildcats are favored to win the game, with ESPN Analytics giving the Wildcats a 74.6 percent chance to win the contest. The Yellow Jackets enter the game 4-5 and without a signature win yet this season, while the Wildcats enter the game 7-3, having knocked off the No.19 Illinois Fighting Illini the last time they took the court.
The Yellow Jackets interior defense will be tested, as Wildcat junior forward Nick Martinelli will lead the charge, averaging 20 points and 6 rebounds per game. His ability to stretch the floor by knocking down shots on the perimeter will test the rotation of Yellow Jackets big men that include Baye Ndongo, Duncan Powell, and Luke O’Brien by testing their athleticism.
The lineup for the Yellow Jackets will depend on if senior guard Javian McCollum will be healthy or not. McCollum hasn’t played since getting a concussion two weeks ago against the Cincinnati Bearcats. If McCollum isn’t able to play, the presumed starter would be Lance Terry, who has filled in for McCollum the past four games.
The Yellow Jackets will need to make sure that the Wildcats commit turnovers early and often, as gaining those few extra possessions could mean the difference in walking home with a win or a loss.
The game is set to start at 4pm Eastern time on the Big Ten Network.
