The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have continued to raise eyebrows across the women's college basketball landscape, as they have moved up to No.17 in the latest poll. This will be the ninth straight week that the Yellow Jackets will be ranked in the top 25.

The movement comes as the Yellow Jackets beat the Miami Hurricanes 77-66, in what would be the Yellow Jackets only game over the past week. The teams that the Yellow Jackets jumped were Tennessee, who lost to No.2 South Carolina 70-63 this past week, and California, who lost to No.13 ranked North Carolina 65-52 this past week.

As they currently sit at 18-4 and eighth place in the ACC standings, but the team could put themselves among one of the top seeds in the conference tournament after the regular season ends. The team will be battling it out with a few other teams for a top-four spot in the tournament, including the Florida State Seminoles, NC State Wolfpack, and California Bears, who are all future opponents for the Yellow Jackets this season, giving them an opportunity to pass them in the standings.

This week, the Yellow Jackets will have two games, as they host the SMU Mustangs on Thursday night, followed by a road trip to take on the Boston College Eagles on Sunday. Both teams are a combined 23-24, so the Yellow Jackets should not be challenged too much, but the main concern for the Yellow Jackets fans should be freshman guard Dani Carnegie returning back to early season form, as she has has two straight bad outings in the Yellow Jackets last two games
