With the nation watching as the ACC tournament kicked off last week, fans met a few new faces that were doing well for teams that they do not typically follow, and one of those faces that was turning heads, especially in ACC circles, was Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets forward Duncan Powell.

To Yellow Jackets fans, Powell did exactly what he had been doing all season, coming up big for the Yellow Jackets in big moments, and the ACC Tournament was no different.

Powell would score 21 points in the Yellow Jackets revenge-filled win over the Virginia Cavalier sin the second round of the ACC Tournament, then went out and put together his best performance of the season when the lights shined the brightest, as he would score 24 points and grab six rebounds in the Yellow Jackets 78-70 loss to the top-seeded Duke Blue Devils.

Powell would play a crucial part in the fast start for the Yellow Jackets in their game against the Blue Devils, making three three-pointers in the first eight minutes of the game and putting the Yellow Jackets up 16-8 early in the contest.

In all, Duncan would average 22.5 points per game in the tournament.

Duncan would enter the season with rather low expectations, as he would transfer in averaging 12.1 points per game last season at Sacramento before transferring to Georgia Tech. The selection caps off what would turn out to be an excellent second half of the season for Powell, as he would solidify himself as a starter for the team, putting up at least 20 points in six of the Yellow Jackets 17 games in the second half of the season.
