The defense for both teams would dominate at the beginning, as the game would sit at 6-5 halfway through the first quarter, with the lone three-pointer being made by Yellow Jackets guard Tonie Morgan. The Yellow Jackets would start the game 2-12 from the field, while the Spiders would start 4-14.
