For the first time since the three seasons, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women's basketball team has climbed the polls enough to where the cracked the AP Top 25 poll. It comes as no surprise that the team has made the appearance, the only question was how long it would take this season. The Yellow Jackets sit at 9-0 this season, having one win against a ranked team, the Oregon Ducks, which they won handily 74-58.

It has already been a historic start to the season for the Yellow Jackets, who were picked to finish 10th this season in the ACC Preseason Predictions. They currently sit as one of only five teams from the conference to be in the AP Top 25 poll.

Head coach Nell Fortner has the Yellow Jackets sitting with the best start since the 1977-78 season.

The Yellow Jackets have been winning in dominant fashion as well this season, as they have won all but one game by at least 14 points, with the lone close game being against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, which the Yellow Jackets squeezed out a 78-75 victory.

The start to the season has been unprecedented, and it looks like the Yellow Jackets biggest challenge to keep the streak alive will be next Sunday when they travel to Chapel Hill to face the No. 14 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels. However, the will have a midweek game before that this week, as they host UL-Monroe tomorrow at 1pm on the ACC Network.
