It should be no surprise that Haynes King mentioned in Top 15 quarterbacks article

With the release of ESPN writer Adam Rittenburg's article that ranked the top 15 quarterbacks in college football heading into the 2025 season, some people around the country might be surprised to see a name: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets quarterback Haynes King. However, King's spot on the list should not be a surprise at all.

King submitted his spot on the list for his performance last season, as he saw significant playing time in nine games for the Yellow Jackets last season, and in those nine games, he led the Yellow Jackets to a 5-4 record, but it was one performance that stood out: the heroic one against the in-state Georgia Bulldogs, where King, facing the top defense in college football last season, put up 303 passing yards and 110 rushing yards with five total touchdowns.

The performance was without a doubt King's best in his career, but there were a few games earlier last season that flew up under the radar, such as his 312-yard passing performance against then-No.19 ranked Louisville, where he also ran for 58 yards, and his performance against North Carolina, where King had 197 passing yards and 107 rushing yards. These performances are proof that the Georgia game was not just an anomaly, it could be the norm for him next season.

King has for sure established himself as one of the premiere dual threat quarterbacks in the nation, and with the Yellow Jackets more-than-favorable schedule next season, King will be in for a huge season again on the Flats.
