The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have found success recently, putting together what could possibly be their best month of basketball all season in February. The team is 4-1 in the month, in large part due to the recent play of Naithan George.
Over the course of the past five games, George has scored at least 20 points in four games, which have all come in the Yellow Jackets last four games. That includes a season-high 28 points that George scored in the team's 89-86 triple overtime victory over the Clemson Tigers on Feb. 4.
The recent scoring outburst has moved George into second place on the team this season in points per game, averaging 13 points per game.
The recent stretch of games has seen George erupt offensively, but still remain true to his point guard roots as a ball facilitator, averaging 6.8 assists per game during the stretch as well. George currently sits atop the ACC conference in assists per game this season with 6.3. The mark is also good enough to put him tied for twelfth nationally.
With the Yellow Jackets making a late season runs, George has stepped up at the right time of year for the Yellow Jackets, as we approach for the beginning of conference tournaments. George's play has all but confirmed that the Yellow Jackets will be in the ACC tournament and they now have a good shot at finishing the season at .500 this season with games against three of the bottom four teams in the conference standings.
George and the Yellow Jackets will be back in action Saturday as they travel to take on the Boston College Eagles. Tip off for the game is scheduled at 2pm Eastern time.
