The scouting for the 2025 NFL Draft is officially underway, as teams will try to look at high draft picks for starters of need, and day three draft picks to add depth for positions that are already settled for teams. One of those depth pieces could very well be Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets tight end Jackson Hawes.

Hawes has played four seasons at the college level, spending his first three seasons in the Ivy League with the Yale Bulldogs before coming to the Yellow Jackets last season. In his time with the Bulldogs, Hawes caught a total of 35 passes for 371 yards and six touchdowns. In his lone season with the Yellow Jackets, the Salt Lake City, Utah native set career-highs in receptions, with 16, and receiving yards, with 195.

The biggest draw that teams should have for Hawes is his frame, as he stands 6'5" and weighs in at 260 pounds. His impact could be felt more as a run blocking tight end for the Yellow Jackets and Bulldogs, as the Bulldogs finished in the top three in rushing in the Ivy League in 2022 and 2023, while the Yellow Jackets finished second in the ACC in rushing yards last season. With the Yellow Jackets, Hawes' edge blocking on quarterback read options from quarterback Haynes King was key for the team's success last season.

Hawes will most likely see his name called in the seventh round in the draft, but he could certainly be a value pick with the team that decides to call his name on draft day.
