The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women's basketball team has extended the best start to a season in program history, as the team's 100-61 win over the Pittsburgh Panthers.

This marks the first time that the team has reached the 100 point plateau this season, the first time that the team has done it under sixth-year head coach Nell Fortner, and the first time the team has done it since 2015, and the first time that the team has done it against an ACC team without requiring overtime since 1991.

It became evident early in the game that the Yellow Jackets would run away with the game, as they led 31-18 at the end of the first quarter. The Yellow Jackets would outscore the Panthers 22-10 in the second quarter, to head into the locker room at halftime with a 53-28 lead.

Perhaps the only bright spot in the game for the Panthers was the play of senior forward Khadija Faye, which is a sight all too familiar for Panthers fans. Faye had twice as many points as the team's second leading scorer, with 22 points, while also leading the team in rebounds.

As for the Yellow Jackets, standout freshman Dani Carnegie continued her spectacular season by putting up a season-high 24 points and added five rebounds. Perhaps the best performance of the night for the Yellow Jackets though came from junior forward Kara Dunn, who led the team with 28 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Freshman guard Chazadi Wright set a new season-high with 16 points in the victory.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Jan. 2, as they take on the Syracuse Orange in ACC play.
