The Last Word: Georgia Tech vs Notre Dame

In what will be a battle of teams trying to keep their ACC tournament hopes alive, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will travel to South Bend, Indiana for a matchup against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Both teams come into the contest battling to stay at the .500 mark this season, with the Yellow Jackets sitting at 9-11, while the Fighting Irish enter the contest 9-10.  

The two teams have already met once this season, with the Yellow Jackets coming out on top 86-75. Since that game, both teams have lost four of their six games. The Yellow Jackets are coming off of a 71-64 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies, which ended a four-game losing streak by the team. The Fighting Irish just ended  

In that game, the Yellow Jackets bench provided sparks throughout to keep the offense going, as Senior guard Javian McCollum and junior forward Duncan Powell both scored 21 points off the bench. The Yellow Jackets 86 points in the win is the most the team has put up against an ACC team this season. 

The key to success for the Yellow Jackets in the game will be to limit Fighting Irish junior forward Tae Davis, who scored a season-high 27 points in the last meeting between the two teams and has scored in double digit point totals for the team’s last 14 games. The Fighting Irish come into the game as 8.5-point favorites, according to ESPNBet. 

The two teams are set to tip off at 9pm Eastern time.
