The transfer portal is officially underway, and let the frenzy begin for some of the nation's highest-rated players and prospects looking to move on to bigger and better opportunities. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets defensive line could use some bolstering up after this season, so why not look into some of what the transfer portal has to offer? Here are three players the Yellow Jackets and head coach Brent Key should look at for defensive line pieces next season.

1. Tyson Ford, Defensive End, Notre Dame Fighting Irish

While he only played in two games in three seasons with the Fighting Irish, Ford has all the physical capabilities to become a great defensive lineman at the college level. Ford stands at 6’4” 290 pounds, giving him the framework that could have a big impact in the Yellow Jackets nickel defense, which uses four defensive linemen.

2. Santana Hopper, Defensive End, App State Mountaineers

Hopper was a three-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class that reached the top 20 in overall prospects in North Carolina in the recruiting class. At 6’2” 265 pounds, Hopper played both defensive end and defensive tackle each of the last two seasons, starting all 12 games for the Mountaineers last season. Hopper finished the regular season with five sacks and two forced fumbles.

3. Da’Shawn Womack, EDGE, LSU Tigers

Something that the Yellow Jackets could use some help in is pass rush, as the Yellow Jackets finished dead last in the ACC last season. Enter Womack. A former five-star recruit from the 2023 recruiting class, Womack has spent the last two season with the Tigers and will presumably be entering the transfer portal due to low playing time as he didn’t see the field for the Tigers last three games of the season.
